Salk researcher named head of international stem cell group

Stem cell scientist Fred ?Rusty? Gage with The Salk Institute in La Jolla has been named president of the International Society for Stem Cell Research, a Deerfield, Ill., nonprofit organization that promotes public education, scientific training and public policy discussions.
Gage?s work at the institute focuses on schizophrenia, Parkinson?s disease and autism.
