Does Tanning=Skin Cancer? How much does it increase the chances?I am reallllly fair skinned, with freckles and legs that honestly retain almost no color. My grad is coming up and I think it would be nice, and necassary to go tanning to get some color. However maybe I am really paranoid, andsince my skin is really sensative and I have had many sunburns I am scared even one month of tanning will greatly increase my risk of skin cancer! What is the relatioship between the two, will one month of tanning be really bad for me, or is the risk minimal?
Extra
- If I did tan it would be around twice a week for 5-10 minutes for the month leading up to grad
? I have tried some self tanner/ lotions, but since I am so pale I always end up looking ridiculously orange
Sensitive skin that does burn isnt good to tan, and it will increase the chances of skin cancer.
Doing it once, is minimal risk, doing all the time is when the risk becomes more obvious. Im not sure the risk of doing it for a onth. How desperate are you to be tanned?
if your nervous then try spray tans or self tans,Being fair skinned with blue eyes and freckles myself, I can relate. I know that you said the sunless tanners make you look orange, but that?s probably because you haven?t found the right product yet. Shop around. If you don?t have a lot of time go to one of those faux tanning salons where they can spray you. I?ve done that before and it looks great. More and more women are resorting to this type of tanning in order to avoid getting skin cancer. Also, tanning ages you and later in life you?ll appreciate the fact that you didn?t tan.
