How do you make a movie about baseball stats appeal to the masses? Two words:
Brad Pitt. With an assist from Jonah Hill, Aaron Sorkin and Michael Lewis, to boot.
A true story adapted from Lewis' book of the same name, Moneyball stars Pitt as Oakland A's GM Billy Beane, who built a winning team against all odds.
Using statistical data to calculate the best, cheapest and most undervalued players for his rag-tag roster, Beane turned conventional wisdom on its head.
Jonah Hill stars as Pitt's geeky understudy and right hand man, while Oscar-winner Sorkin co-wrote the screenplay. Check out the official Moneyball trailer:
